Description
The technical Service Engineer is responsible for organizing, planning and coordinating Engineering activities efficiently and effectively to provide technical guidance to improve aircraft/engine performance and reliability, as well as managing and optimizing the cost-related aspects of aircraft maintenance and engineering activities within the CAMO department.
Key Responsibilities
-Give guidance on all matters relating to maintenance, repair, overhaul, replacement and modification of aircraft and equipment.
-Monitor all defects, delays, and component and engine removals and ensures advice situations are investigated and recommend remedial action.
-Review manufacturers and regulatory agencies technical data and recommend appropriate action to comply with regulations or improve performance and reliability and reduce cost of maintenance and overhaul.
-Liaise with manufacturer as necessary, and convert manufacturers Service Bulletins or other technical literature into flyadeal documentation (Engineering Order, Special Work Instructions etc).
-Evaluate specifications for the implementation of modifications and repair schemes etc. and advice on specialized tools or equipment required.
-Ensure all technical documents are evaluated and where applicable appropriate action is taken in the form of modifications, Technical Notices, raising AMP Amendments and other technical document amendments.
-Coordinate and conduct Investigation on incidents and accidents, initiate follow up action as required to investigate component and system failure and initiate follow up remedial action.
-Support approval all local modifications, amendments to Maintenance schedule and Concessions on aircraft, components and parts.
-Support engineering functions of material management (Airbus FHS engineering, shop visits reports,…)
-Influence company culture through action, presence, and integrity.
-Monitor and track all maintenance and engineering costs associated with the fleet, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
-Perform detailed cost analysis of maintenance activities, spare parts usage, and engineering projects to identify areas for cost savings.
-Work closely with Head of engineering to ensure financial targets are met, including cost reduction initiatives and optimization of resources.
-Develop accurate cost models and financial reports to support decision-making.
-Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost databases, including historical maintenance cost data and performance metrics.
-Prepare regular cost performance reports and dashboards for management, highlighting cost trends and areas for improvement.
-Identify cost-saving opportunities across the CAMO department, including improved resource utilization, process efficiencies, and use of alternative suppliers.
-Analyse fuel usage, aircraft utilization, and component lifecycles to provide recommendations for reducing overall fleet operating costs.
Requirements
-Bachelors Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
-Master’s degree in finance or business administration.-Min. of 5 years of experience in airline engineering as a technical services engineer.
-Experiences on CFM56 and LEAP-1A engines required including engine on/off wing management.
-Experience in low-cost airlines highly preferred.
-Knowledge of aircraft maintenance costs, lifecycle costing, and financial management principles
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
-Experience with aviation ERP systems (AMOS).
