Overview
The NDT Technician Trainee will be working under the guidance of easyJet engineering EN4179 certified level 2 and/or 3 NDT inspectors. NDT Technician Trainees will learn to set up, calibrate and use NDT equipment as part of their on-the-job training.
The NDT Technician Trainee will accrue hours and receive classroom training as part of their development towards becoming an easyJet engineering Certified Level 2 NDT inspector under direct supervision of easyJet engineering EN4179 certified level 2 and/or 3 NDT inspectors.
The NDT Technician Trainee does not independently conduct tests, make, accept or reject decisions. This role is an entry level towards being qualified as easyJet engineering EN4179 certified level 2 NDT inspector in NDT techniques such as but not limited to Eddy Current (ET), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Dye penetrant and fluorescent penetrant testing (PT), Thermographic Testing (TT/IRT) and Radiography Testing (RT).
Main Tasks
- To promote a positive Safety Culture and to ensure that Safety and Quality Policy is communicated/promoted and implemented within the Organization.
- To ensure that all elements of the SMS are properly implemented, maintained and continuously improved by fulfilling all SMS related duties and responsibilities as defined in SMS Manual.
- Setting up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment under the supervision of a level 2.
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection such as A-scan and C-scan Methods under the guidance of a level 2,
- Organize and create NDT report test results under the supervision of a certified level 2.
- Adapts to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; able to absorb and process information.
- Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve within the NDT shop.
- To keep NDT logbook updated in timely manner and fulfill requirement mentioned in national and international NDT standards (such as EN4179 etc).
- Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the test method as used by easyJet engineering Malta.
- Interface daily with the NDT team about work priorities, progress of projects, upcoming layovers and prepare tooling accordingly.
- Adheres to company procedures, maintaining safety and quality standards at all times, reporting any discrepancies to respective manager / team leader (raising SMS reports as necessary).
- Engage in any other task that may be assigned from time to time.

- People: Be engaged in problem solving, support NDT team as required.
- 5S: Ensure that all 5S Standards are adhered with at all times in his/her area / office of responsibility
Position Key Requirements and Competencies.
- Have a minimum of 1 year working experience in an EASA Part 145 Organisation.
- Have a strong demonstrated commitment to detail, precise and high-quality work.
- Understanding of the importance of inspection and quality control methodologies is essential
- Be IT literate.
- Candidates must be willing to develop their skills and knowledge within various NDT disciplines over time.
- Good command of the English language.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Be a good team player.
- Have a can-do attitude.
- Be ready to work shifts and/or flexible hours including nightshifts and weekend.
