The Opportunity
The Boeing MQ28 – is a globally-significant program that will deliver a disruptive advantage to support Defence operational capabilities. Developed in partnership with the Royal Australian Air Force, it is the first military combat aircraft to be designed, manufactured and assembled in Australia in 50 years.
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical, AME based at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland to support this exciting opportunity.
Additionally, this position may also support other exciting programs at Amberley including : C-17A Globemaster, F/A-18F Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler and E-7A Wedgetail.
Responsibilities
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components and associated equipment within the scope of their applicable: trade; qualifications; training; competency; and, Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) authorization(s).
The AME completes assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of AMO aircraft maintenance activities, sign-off, and Certification of those aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with the appropriate Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD). These maintenance activities require the application of trade qualifications and experience in the relevant trade category. Additionally, the aircraft maintenance activities may require the application of post-trade qualifications and experience.
AME conducting Certification are required to interpret Instruction for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and apply them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.
Experience/Qualifications
We are looking for the successful applicant that meets the following criteria:
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 12 months experience as a fully qualified maintainer
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills Mechanical qualification
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Dept of Defence security clearance, at the required level for the role
- Ability to obtain and maintain the security requirements for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITARS) clearance
- Ensuring compliance to 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
- Ability to read, interpret, speak and write fluently in English
- Demonstrated computer (and related technology) literacy
- Demonstrate competence to seek and hold delegated authorities under the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation: quality assurance procedures; maintenance / modification procedures; and, AMD and ICA documentation
